Energy Saving Scheme

Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI) has announced
a grant scheme to improve the energy efficiency
of homes in Ireland. It outlines level of grants
available for specific home improvements to be
made. One element that can be grant aided is
for a BER to be performed before and after the work is performed.

Leinster BER Services offers an advisory report as part of our standard BER package. It outlines specific measures that can be taken to improve the energy efficiency of your property. Combining this with the grants available we can work with you to determine the most cost effective approach to improving your energy rating. We will also provide the follow up ('After') survey to ensure that the improvements have been carried out effectively.

We are independent of any contractor or solution provider and so can provide unbiased recommendations and solutions that suit you and your property.

The BER can be performed now before the grant has been approved. The objective of the 'Before' BER is to help you to identify the works to be undertaken and it should be completed before an application is made to the HES scheme. 

Grants Available Through the SEI Scheme

The rates for grants available as published by SEI are:

   Roof Insulation ............................................... €250
   Cavity Wall Insulation ...................................... €400
   Internal Wall Insulation .................................... €2,500
   External wall Insulation .................................... €4,000
   Heating Controls Upgrade ................................. €500
   Boiler & Heating System Controls Upgrade ........... €700

Our Pricing for Before/After BER for Home Energy Saving Scheme

Our prices are based on the size of the property in question.

'Before' 'After' BER Assessment and Report:

The 'Before' BER costs the same as a standard BER and the 'After' BER is an additional €50.

                                     Apartments

                             One Bed                €190 €50 ('After' BER)
                             Two & Three Bed    €200 €50 ('After' BER)

                                        Houses

                             Houses                 €220 €50 ('After' BER)

Houses over 3000 sq. ft. will be charged an additional €100 (inc. VAT) per 1000 sq. ft.

For example, the nett cost of a 'Before and After' BER for a 2 bed apartment = €250 - €200 SEI grant = €50.
